Amy Poehler has been blonde for as long as we can remember, so seeing her with fiery-red hair at Cannes was a delightful surprise. She originally debuted a more subdued strawberry-blonde look earlier this year, but at the film festival, Poehler showed off a shinier, more brilliant red—and it’s truly stunning.
The 43-year-old actress hit the red carpet on Monday in two different looks that showcased her new, very red hue in beautiful ways. During the day, Poehler wore her hair down and casual and paired it with a black-and-white dress.

Amy Poehler Just Changed Her Hair Color… Again!
When we think about the hilarious and super smart powerhouse that is Amy Poehler, we typically tend to imagine her with a head full of light blonde locks. But like her beloved Parks and Rec character, Poehler loves to surprise us with something a little unexpected — like a totally new, dark haired ‘do.
The 43-year-old actress first ditched her blonde tresses back in April when she debuted a strawberry blonde color at an event celebrating Allen Ginsberg’s HOWL. To keep us on our toes, Poehler has switched things up yet again. While attending the London premiere of her movie Inside Out this past weekend, Poehler debuted a dark auburn color that offers a little bit more drama and depth than her previous style.
It’s a subtle difference, but it’s definitely noticeable, just like Blake Lively’s switch from blonde to bronde. The darker color offers the perfect shade for that upcoming summer to fall transition. That being said, we also wouldn’t be opposed to seeing the actress follow in cool mom, Kelly Ripa’s footsteps by ditching the traditional hair colors for a fun shade of blue or pink. C’mon Amy, what do you say?

We’re so surprised to see that Amy is rocking auburn hair! She took the stage at the DLF Celebration, and though we’ve only seen it under harsh bright lights, she seems to be pulling off her new look well.
Amy debuted her look without any glamorous styling, and she also wore minimal makeup, really allowing all of the focus to be on her new red strands. It even seems that Amy has dyed her eyebrows to match her new ‘do, and we can’t help but assume that she’s made the change for a new role! Hey, we can dream, right?

She debuted the look at an event celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s Howl in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. Though it’s hard to see the finer details of her new shade under these lights, we can tell that it’s a medium coppery color with highlights near her face. This is an excellent way of incorporating a new hair color without going into change-induced mirror shock.

Perhaps this is Poehler’s way of putting the very blonde character of Leslie Knope behind her. Perhaps it’s for a new role. And hey, perhaps she just felt like a change. But being a redhead suits her perfectly; we’re excited to see more of this newly ginger Amy very soon.
Now please enjoy the greatest photo ever taken.

Amy Poehler Dyes Hair Red In An Awesome Departure From Her Signature Blonde Tresses
While some celebrities are notorious for undergoing constant hair makeovers — Julianne Hough and Amber Rose are of the latest — others are more reserved and conventional in that department. This particular starlet is of the latter kind: Amy Poehler dyed her hair red, deviating from her signature blonde color, and it looks amazing.
The Parks & Recreation actress debuted her fiery new ‘do in Los Angeles on Tuesday night at the 60th anniversary celebration of Allen Ginsberg’s poem “Howl”, according to E Online. The brand new shade is quite the departure from her usual blonde locks, which she has kept intact literally forever. Although we are currently amidst a wave of celebrity hair transformations — which includes Kim Kardashian, Christina Hendricks, Hillary Duff, and many more — I would not have guessed Poehler would be next on the list. After all, the former Leslie Knope is not one to change her up style very often. The closest thing to a “makeover” we’ve seen from her over the years was her strawberry blonde mane as Regina George’s mom on Mean Girls, and that was just for a role.
Nevertheless, she sure seems to be hopping on the hair change bandwagon now. Perhaps this is for a new upcoming role as well? No one knows for sure. My prediction is that she just wanted a fresh change to ring in the new spring season post Parks and Rec— and what better way to do that than with a hot new hairdo?
Poehler’s dyed tresses are not exactly fire-engine red, like Rihanna circa 2012. Instead, she opted for a copper-ish, auburn hue that doesn’t seem too dramatic. This shade actually really suits her and it’s a refreshing alternative to the usual blonde. Let’s take a look at the transformation a little closer.
