Ideas

Easter is right around the corner, and there are plenty of small gaming gifts that will fit perfectly in an Easter basket for your family or friends. Here are some gift ideas to help you make this a memorable Easter for the gamers in your life.

Basket-ready consoles

Nintendo has taken over the world of portable gaming thanks to the Nintendo Switch. The console’s innovative hybrid design lets you play at home on the TV or on-the-go with its built-in screen. Though this is the priciest item on the list, it’s still one of the hottest gaming gifts around a year after launch. It’s small enough to fit in a larger Easter basket, too, making it a wonderful surprise if you want go all-out this holiday.

The Switch isn’t Nintendo’s only portable gaming system, either. The Nintendo 3DS and 2DS line of dedicated handhelds is a more affordable option. In fact, Nintendo recently gave us its cutest edition yet in the Pikachu Nintendo 2DS XL system. The design of this 2DS XL depicts Pikachu’s adorable face, complete with a raised bump for his nose. Plus, the entire system comes in his trademark yellow. It’s an excellent gift for any Pokémon fan.

Easter-friendly accessories

If the gamer you’re buying for already has a Switch or a 3DS, you can fill their Easter basket with a ton of awesome Nintendo accessories. Nintendo’s collectible amiibo figurines actually interact with the games you’re playing. Touching Zelda-themed amiibo to your Switch while playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, for example, nets you in-game items that will help you in your quest. Even if you aren’t playing a game, amiibo are still awesome collectibles for kids and the young at heart.

PowerA also has a line of new controllers for the Switch that let players show off their favorite Nintendo characters. Gamepads with colorful artwork featuring Mario, , Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong or Splatoon’s Inklings will all make playing Switch games even more fun.

If you’re building a basket for someone who primarily games on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, a new controller can be an excellent option, too. PlayStation 4 controllers come in a wide variety of designs and colors. Xbox One controllers offer similar variety, as well as a high-end Elite Wireless Controller option for gamers who really want to stay competitive.

Gifts that keep on gaming

In addition to consoles and accessories, there are a few other basket-appropriate gifts out there.

One of the best values on Xbox One right now is Xbox Game Pass. This subscription service gives Xbox One owners instant access to over 150 Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles like Halo 5, Gears of War 4. It even includes the brand-new cartoony pirate adventure Sea of Thieves. Parents of younger gamers will want to take notice of the ESRB ratings of Game Pass games, however. Not all titles are suitable for all ages.

You can also buy an Xbox Live Gold membership, which allows for online play and will help the recipient enjoy Game Pass titles to the fullest.

On PlayStation 4, the gamer in your life will love a membership to PlayStation Plus, which is similarly required for online play on Sony’s Platform. Another good option is PlayStation Store credit. Recipients can redeem these codes, available in denominations of $20 and $50, for whatever game they like. It’s an option that takes the guesswork out of giving.

We hope this guide helps you find the perfect Easter gifts for your loved ones!

Easter Baskets for Boys

If you are filling easter baskets for boys this year, we have some great ideas of non-candy items you can put in your baskets this year. At our house, we put just a small amount of candy in the kids’ baskets and we like to add a few small toys or books to fill the baskets. They already get so much candy at local Easter egg hunts that we like to limit the sweets, plus I like to restock things like art supplies, reading materials or outdoor toys. We found lots of fun things in all price ranges to help you shop for Easter this year.

To pin this list to your Pinterest boards for later, press the “pin-it” button above.

A unique element of this game is that bidding takes place simultaneously, leading to rounds that are sometimes over, or under-bid. I love these highly-reviewed Epic Zero Books. They are specifically for tween boys entering middle school. Easter Basket Ideas for Guys

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. Not because of the actual day, but because of the copious amounts of candy that always accompanied it. My mom always went overboard on the goodies she’d include, and I enjoyed every single minute of it. After all, I’ve always had one serious sweet tooth. Some things never change!

Some things do though. Back in the day I would have hated getting underwear (or anything practical) in an easter basket. But now? Yes, please. So if you’re like me and waiting until the last minute to prepare an Easter basket for the guys in your life. Then you’re in luck! Cause Walmart is the perfect one stop shop for creating a one-of-a-kind manly easter basket.

The key to nailing a bold, manly Easter basket is knowing what your guy has a hankering for. Because after all, the true way to a guy’s heart is through his stomach. For me, that’s a delicate combo of savory and sweet items. No basket is complete without the requisite Easter candy, but including a 26-pack of Slim Jim really takes it to the next level. That way your guy (and you) have something to snack on, no matter your mood.

Now it’s your turn to join in on the fun! Head over to Walmart to build out your perfect Easter basket for the guys in your life, and then share them on social by tagging with #SlimJimBoldBaskets. And to top it off, that’ll enter you to win a $100 gift card. That’s what you call a win, win in my book.
